Champaign County EMA Recognizes Fire and EMS Personnel Following Cardiac Arrest Response

The Champaign County Emergency Management Agency recognized members of the Northeast Champaign County Fire District and Mechanicsburg Fire and EMS with a Director’s Commendation following their actions during a recent cardiac arrest incident.

Recognized were:

Northeast Champaign County Fire District

  • FF Jake Warner

  • FF/EMT Joe Turvy

  • FF/EMT Sam Wagner

  • FF/Paramedic Brandon Adams

Mechanicsburg Fire and EMS

  • FF/Paramedic Thad Davis

  • FF/EMT Jason Richey

  • FF/Paramedic Tristan Dunlap

During the cardiac arrest incident, personnel from both agencies worked together to provide emergency medical care and coordinate their response to a critically ill patient.

Cardiac arrest incidents require immediate, coordinated action. The ability of responding personnel to quickly assess the situation, initiate life-saving interventions, work effectively as a team, and maintain focus under extremely stressful circumstances is critical to achieving the best possible outcome.

The actions of these responders demonstrated the professionalism, teamwork, and dedication that the citizens of Champaign County depend upon during their most critical moments.
